Absolutely beautiful outside seating- cannot beat it. Food was delicious and creative. Kaity was very friendly and accommodating; we will be back again shorty for another round. The views of Henry Fork River and mountains in the background are stellar.

If I were to rate a restaurant on service and ambiance alone, I would give this place 5 stars. But, a restaurant should be rated on the quality of food, so again 5 stars. Also, how much dough you fork out for your meal is a major factor, so 5 again. Lastly, there are all the details that make or break the experience like restroom cleanliness, parking, A/C temp, other patrons, background music... yep, 5 again!

Delicious food and nice atmosphere! We split the pork chop and it was really good! The potatoes that come with it are ok as were the carrots. We went back another day for breakfast and it was quite good and reasonably priced. Be prepared to wait though - it took over thirty minutes from our ordering to get out food both times!

Fifth year stopping in for meals while hitting the local fishing spots. Chefs have changed a couple times but TH still maintains a high quality menu. Enjoyed three meals there this week; don't miss the candied pork belly and the buffalo wings.

The hub of interesting and good food and beer in the area. It would excel even with competition nearby. Great staff and a great place for a meal and a drink. One of my favorite places even though it's 800 moles away from home.

Another delicious meal. I had the vegetable bisque with lots of turkey, garlic herb rolls, and rigatoni with fresh butternut squash, peas, tomatoes, broccolini, basil and pecorino in a creamy garlic sauce. My hubby ordered the house salad and seared salmon with grilled potatoes and portobello mushrooms. Our food was brought to the table quickly (could have used a little more time between courses) and the waitress gave us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert (mango mousse cake or caramel apple ice cream sandwich). Chocolate would have tempted me, but we passed.

Stopped at the TroutHunter for lunch on a bike trip across country. Had their 3 slider lunch, it was excellent. The first slider was a Buffalo slider with cheese, the second was an Elk slider with a special sauce, the third was home made game sausage with onions. Service was decent, great ambiance, and great views. Stopped there for lunch the next day as well and had their blackened fish tacos, also excellent. Stop there if you are passing through Island Park.

Trouthunter does not serve trout. Lol. Restaurant named "trout hunter", located on world famous trout fishing river, no trout.

I stopped by here with my fiance and her parents a couple of weeks ago for dinner. We decided to come here because we were staying in Island Park for the week and this came up as one of the top places on Yelp. I wasn't sure what to expect whenever we arrived at the restaurant as there seemed to be a dog (I think it was friendly) roaming around outside. However once we made it inside I knew that I would like the place. They had a bar on one side of the restaurant with tables in the middle and then a pool table covered up to be used as a dining table on the other side. The best part was their patio though which sat overlooking Blue Spring Creek. If it hadn't been so cold the night that we were there I am sure our whole group would have enjoyed watching the sunset from there. As it was, after trying it out for a few minutes we decided that sitting inside would be much more comfortable. For my dinner entree after much deliberation I decided to go with the four cheese Mac and cheese and added on the pork belly. It also came with a salad for which I got the huckleberry vinaigrette that I enjoyed. Maybe I didn't fully read the menu before ordering the macaroni and cheese but I was impressed whenever my entree came out as it ended up being more like a primavera macaroni and cheese than a traditional one. With that being said I really enjoyed the addition of vegetables and it still had some great sauce on it that was both creamy and had a nice flavor. The pork belly ended up being the most disappointing part of the meal though as it was sort of thick/tough and I was expecting it to be a bit thinner and more bacon-esque. The bottom line for me is that I would come back here again in the future. I would love to sit on the patio and watch the sunset but even if I couldn't,the Trouthunter still has some surprisingly good food with nice flavors.

The Island Park area is a wonderful recreation spot, though the dining options are a bit limited and usually focus on the same, burgerpizzafries options that most tourist areas seem to. What a hugely pleasant surprise to find the Trout Hunter Bar and Grill. We ate dinner and breakfast there (as one of the few places that actually server breakfast). The menu (I wish I took a photo) is extremely creative and offers a wide variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. According to our server, the chef was in Sun Valley over the winter and has returned to Island Park for the summer which is extremely fortunate for locals and visitors alike as their menu can compete with the restaurants in most discriminating markets. During dinner, my wife enjoyed an expertly prepared gnocchi that was well pan crisped before being combined with fresh vegetables. I had a veggie sandwich that actually had roasted pepper, portobello mushrooms, grilled onions, goat cheese, etc. instead of the usual bland fare. At breakfast, she had an amazing almond crusted french toast and they offer omelets in as usual or in wrap form and I had their veggie omelet with smoked Gouda cheese in a wrap. A) How many places have you been to that offer smoked Gouda? B) They not only put the omelet in the wrap, but grilled it on the flattop for extra texture! I mean, really...you have to visit this place.

I have been coming to the Trouthunter at least once a year since 2003. Over the years it has been my pleasure to eat a guide sandwich before heading out to the river to fish. Nursing a hangover? Try the "Man Of Stiehl" breakfast. Along with curing your headache, you will not have to eat all day. Lunch consists of the basics you would find in any restaurant. Though I am guilty of drinking most of my lunches when I am there. Try the Bloody Mary. It's probably the best I have ever tasted. The dinner menu carries with it many a tasty entree. On my last trip I ate wasabi crusted tuna ahi. It was tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The patio offers a wonderful view of the river and sunsets. I can think of no finer place in Island Park when not on the water to enjoy a cocktail. The bar and dining area at times is filled with guides, millionaires on fishing vacations and Island Park locals. Everyone seems to have a good meal and a great time provided by an awesome staff. Often times there is live entertainment. This is often advertised on the Trouthunter website.

They do not offer trout or bison but we give them a try other items on the menu anyway. When we got there, they had hog roast buffet day normal menu was not offered. Disappointed for veggie friends in our group but we love the sunset and the buffet for the rest.

Great atmosphere. We sat on the patio overlooking the river at sunset and it was awesome. Service was great and helpful. We ordered manhattans and the Funeral Potato appetizer. Perfect. Dinner was the chicken paillard. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. This chef knows his stuff.

Yum. Delicous. Superb. Fantastic. Divine! This is the ONLY place to eat up there that isn't just so-so. We look forward to eating here every year on our annual trip up there. The menu is always changing, so I can't really recommend anything specific, but we tried the mushroom and corn risotto as an appetizer, and I wish I would have ordered it as an entree. Also, the chocolate fudge cake is orgasmic.

A can't be beat location right off Henry's fork. If you are looking for a huge breakfast plate before you hit the river or a burger and beer to soak down a great day of fishing the Trouthunter is the perfect location for this. The burger was excellent. Beef was grilled to perfection and it is stacked high with toppings it offers some great flavors. The kids menu offered some of the best mac and cheese I have ever had (Yes, I am that father). Onion rings are off the hook and are a must have.

The location is ideal for its remarkably stunning sunset over looking the river. It's basically a lodge with a side restaurant. The servers seemed friendly and the food was decent. I ordered the rigatoni, which was amazing good, but over salted. But overall the captivating scene just overwhelmed the entire experience of it all.

Got wind of this place when the guys from Trout Hunter catered a company retreat for us. They rocked and the food was awesome so we stopped in one night to see their home base - we were not disappointed. The place is awesome if you want to belly up to the bar and have a good time, or if you want to sit down with your sweetheart and have a really nice meal. The weather was a little cold, but we can't wait to get back here to check out the awesome patio they have out back. Our meal (we just happen to be there just before Mother's Day so the menu was off the charts good): - Wasabi & panko crusted tuna - flash seared and served with a cucumber slaw & soy dipping sauce - Mixed greens salad with pecorino, warm pears and a fennel vinaigrette - Pan seared chicken thighs (some of the best chicken I've ever had) - Chocolate (both white and milk) with fresh fruit This crew knows their stuff - everything was "on point"! We got the royal treatment, but I have a feeling that if you want to go all out or just relax and have a burger, this place will do you right.

Being from the SF bay area, i had modest expectations and i was very impressed! Super friendly waitstaff along with a the most delicious almond crusted chicken salad. Dressed perfectly with balsamic vinaigrette and with feta and bacon. Also had perfect onion rings. Size of all plates was large but not disgustingly so. Definitely coming back for breakfast the next day!!

We travel from West Yellowstone to eat at the Trouthunter Bar and Grill. We get waited on promptly. You can sit outside to enjoy a great view but it is very hot in the sun and at times windy. I usually order the "house" merlot wine and it is fine. Portions are adequate, I ordered the 8 oz. steak and it was cooked perfect. The mashed potatoes were cold and they fixed it quickly. It is a relaxing, comfortable stop.

The food was okay but the server seemed a little hostile. It was an okay place to stop, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to get to.

Awesome food, great place, amazing people. If your in the neighborhood you have to check them out. They also do catering which was incredible.

Breakfast? Yes!! Good omlettes and better oatmeal. Lunch? Not sure, never had it. Dinner? Hit and miss, if Dave (bald guy) is in the visible kitchen, all good. If not, stick with the pork chops or steak. Classy (for the area) because it is relatively new, and doubles as a local bar and fly shop as well. Great riverside patio.

Best bar we found in Island Park. Good crowd and nice people, a great place to grab a beer after fishing.

bloody mary's are great....however, ordered a burger with salad side. They arrived on the same plate and the burger bun was saturated with salad dressing. I hate soggy buns. In addition one of the waitresses was mopping the floor with a heavy bleach solution and it was very caustic. At least close the inside section of the restaurant, and have customers sit outside, until the floor has dried. I spend the summer in Island Park and usually eat at the TH 3-4 times per month. I think I will slow up a bit.....suggestion to TH whenever a salad is optioned with any sandwich please put the burger and salad on separate plates. It is probably ok with blue cheese, or ranch, dressing but with a vinaigrette it is a showstopper as the dressing is much less viscous. Burger was cooked perfectly but the wet bun ruined the experience......this has not usually been the norm at TH....sometimes spotty service (especially as we are not recognized as a local or regular) sometimes sketchy food but normally OK
